In September 2020 became known as the project of Class G-Alebrije: the truck all-terrain by the German brand Mercedes Benz intervened by Taller Jacobo y María Ángeles. An abstract representation of the Oaxacan culture and the symbolic expression of the Mesoamerican culture.

The truck was our canvas for 5 months, a new and different surface for our traditional methods of carving and painting in wood that we had used. In Class G we translate the 3 powers of Zapotec cosmovision: serpent, the ultimate power that covers the truck from the fender to the vehicle roof. Jaguar, located on the hood, represents earthly power, and finally, the eagle, represents the power of vision. On the roof of the truck took place an intervention by Ricardo Ángeles, that combines the unmistakable checkered flag of the car racing and the colors of indigenous native American peoples’ flag (Wiphala).

More than an intervened truck is an object with its spirit. A mobile wherever it goes, domains the 3 sacred powers.

Class G-Alegrije was a successful challenge by the union of talents. Every collaboration gives us great learning, and we recognize the big effort of our team to get the result obtained. This truck is in the museum of Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart, German, after having been in several states of the Mexican Republic.
