Get to Know our Worldview,
Techniques and Processes During your Visit

It is a pleasure to be able to share
the work we have been doing for 28 years with all of our visitors.

01

Guided tours

When you arrive at the workshop we will introduce you to our world, where the “tonas and
nahuales
”; live; animals with spirit, carved and decorated with symbols represented in
our zapotec calendar. You will take a tour of the workshop and we will share
with you the elaboration process of the wooden pieces, as well as our
jewelry and ceramic projects.

02

Workshops

As an experience we offer you different workshops.

Once you know what your spirit animal is, you can take the workshop “Paint your Nahual ” and decorate your own nahualito, guided by a teacher. This is a great experience for all ages and is available in person and online.
Also, you can take a “Painting Class with Jacobo and Maria” where you will use natural pigments and meet them in person. For this experience we need to schedule in advance.
If you like ceramics and want to have a first approach to this craft. You can come one day to take a “Torno Class”, a traditional tool that uses centrifugal force to shape the clay. Let us know at least one week in advance to be ready.
The “Mask Carving Workshop” is a complete experience that brings the participant closer to wood carving and decoration techniques through one of the most significant elements in the community: the masks. Available for universities and cultural centers.
