#TuningTJYMA
Patricio O´Ward with Taller Jacobo and María Ángeles
The intervention of objects through art is the practice of transforming the everyday to create new forms of interpretation and meaning, this action has become valuable to reflect the reality and culture of a society.
Jacobo and María Ángeles workshop has decided to get involved in the tuning of reality, in the intervention of various objects and in contributing to the reconstruction and appropriation of reality. This is how #TuningTJYMA becomes a line of work in which cars and other objects have been intervened in order to translate our worldview in other ways.
This time we do it for the helmet of the Mexican racing driver Patricio
O’Ward, who participates in the 500 Miles of Indianapolis, also known as Indianapolis 500 or Indy 500, one of the oldest motor events of its kind.
For the helmet of Pato O’Ward, the Jacobo and María Ángeles Workshop used traditional elements of the Zapotec culture that, for years, have distinguished the work of this family project. As a sign of protection, the house element was used, the rattle represents the highest power, the sun is hope, the fish alludes to respect, the ant is synonymous with work, the wind is movement, the sheep is strength, while the labyrinth alludes to the search.
We believe that Patricio O’Ward will wear with pride and the passion that distinguishes him this helmet that honors the Zapotec culture and represents Mexico in every mile he manages to cross.
