NÓMADAS proposes a vision of a dystopian future where science merges with ancestral Zapotec beliefs by genetically experimenting with human beings, mixing them with animal characteristics going against nature with the aim of achieving greater longevity, resistance and adaptation to the earth. A future where science moves on from the mechanical and electronic advance, concentrating mainly on genetic modification and the creation of organic technology instruments.
Tonas and Nahuales, hybrid beings come true, together in a tribe winding through the mountains, being displaced because of the idea of men’s superiority over nature and protecting animals from a hostile world product of our “human” ambition for progress.
“THE NOMAD BEING
IS A CONDITION
Fantastic nomads, almost mythical, walking hills that leave their mark on the landscape during their escape in a fiction about the state of defense of life. This exhibition creates a narrative about the lourney, the path that has no destination, the resistance and the persecution.
The primal search for survival, a community care network that establishes protocols and rituals of protection among those who share the path and pilgrimage.
