Milagros de Sabina
Milagros de Sabina arises in 2011, from the enthusiasm of master craftsmen to create innovative design products, which had a relationship with our figures carved in wood. Together with a group of collaborators including expert decorators, unique pieces made with wood and silver were created, each piece having its own identity, unrepeatable in each of its lines and shapes, thus generating a balance between our aesthetics and contemporary design.
High Temperature Ceramic
Mogote is a high-temperature ceramic workshop dedicated to the production, experimentation and teaching of the trade through mutual interest in the land and its possibilities, whose principles are respect for nature and man’s dialogue with matter. On the other hand, we seek to promote and resume the pottery trade through the creation of high-quality, lead-free utilitarian objects that include our own designs honoring our culture. The lands that we occupy to create our pieces and that have sheltered the copal, belong to Los Mogotes hill, local lands, which, together with the knowledge and correct manipulation of fire, give rise to a high temperature ceramic, taking the matter to more than 1200° C.
Palo que Habla
Palo que habla is a multilateral project, located in San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca, which has been self-managed by the Jacobo & María Angeles Workshop and whose central axis is the field. Among its various functions, it is to defend, preserve and rehabilitate ecosystems of the territory of our community, compensate and give back to the land through the sowing and harvesting of water, as well as improving the processes to produce trees in order to reforest annually, harmonize the traditional knowledge of the population with agricultural engineering and promote a sustainable and fair way of life between nature and human beings.
Traditional Oaxacan Cuisine
We were born in a town of Zapotec origin, located in the Central Valleys of the State of Oaxaca called San Martín Tilcajete, with the dream of sharing a taste of our wide gastronomic culture, which symbolizes one of our most precious ancestral heritages. The cuisine in towns like ours is fundamental for cultural and economic development and despite coinciding with dishes from the region, they all have different personalities. We produce our own corn, beans, plants and endemic species of our region within our Palo que habla project.
Popular Art Gallery
We are a gallery, born in the form of a cooperative, specifically from the crafts that are made in our community, San Martín Tilcajete, figures carved in wood with representative decoration of our Zapotec culture, including along the way the Huichol art of our Wixaricas brothers from Nayarit and Jalisco, the polychrome clay from Puebla and ceramics from our region.
