We are made of Corn and Cocoa
La Rifa Chocolatería
In Mexico, there are two foods that are the basis of our culture and food, we are made of cocoa and corn.
The corn grown and harvested by our bioconservation project Palo que Habla was transformed by master chocolatiers from La Rifa chocolatería, and we were in charge of wrapping this bar with the symbols of our culture, in order to value the origin of this food that was planted in the fields of San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca.
When we imagined this 100% cacao and criollo corn chocolate bar, we only had in mind the importance of talking about the sovereignty of our food. In Mexico, it is almost impossible to find a real chocolate bar. Not even one percent of the world’s cocoa inputs are produced in our country.
It has been a real pleasure to collaborate with La Rifa Chocolatería with this corn and cocoa chocolate, because for us it symbolizes a lot to defend who we are and what we are made of
Through the ingredients that compose it, even the wrapper that covers it, we express our pride in working our land and living from our art.
